The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève Winners Awards, which was held for the 18th time this year, reached their owners with a magnificent ceremony on November 9, 2018.
GPHG, in which 72 timepieces competed in 12 categories, is known as one of the most prestigious organizations in the watch industry. Swiss Finance Minister Johann Schneider-Ammann also attended the ceremony with the local authorities and manufacturers from various regions of the world.
The star of the night was Bovet taking the “AIGUILLE D’OR” GRAND PRIX award with the Bovet 1822 Récital 22 Grand Récital. The model is offered in an 18K pink gold case and powered by a manual winding movement that provides a power reserve of 216 hours. The model features day, date, month, year, moon phase indicator, power reserve indicator, retrograde minutes, tourbillon and retrograde perpetual calendar. Limited to a span of 60 units only, the model retails for 468,500 CHF.

In the women’s watches category, the award was given to Chanel’s Boy-Friend Skeleton. 28,6mm x 37mm x 8,4mm model with a list price of 53,900 CHF.

Van Cleef & Arpels’s Lady Arpels Planétarium model awarded within the women’s complication watches. 38mm x 13.84mm size white gold case model of the model price was announced as 257,500 CHF.

In the category of men’s watches, the award was given to Akrivia Chronomètre Contemporain. 38mm x 8mm in size with a pink gold case model has a manual winding caliber with a power reserve of 100 hours. The list price is 59.940 CHF.

Laurent Ferrier’s Galet Annual Calendar School Piece was the winner in the men’s complication models. 40mm x 12.64mm stainless steel case model has a manual winding caliber that offers a power reserve of 80 hours. The price of the watch was announced as CHF 50,000.

The winner in the chronograph watch category became the Singer Reimagined’s Singer Track1 Hong Kong Edition. The model has a 43mm x 49.2mm x 15mm ceramic case with a chronograph movement. The list price of the model was announced as 47,927 CHF.

In the chronometer section, the award was given to the De Bethune’s DB25 Starry Varius Chronomètre Tourbillon. The model with 42mm x 10,3mm titanium case is limited to 20 pieces and has a list price of 197.000CHF.

Greubel Forsey’s Grande Sonnerie won the Mechanical Exception award. The model with 43,5mm x 16,13mm titanium case features minute repeater grande & petite sonnerie, power reserve indicator and tourbillon. The list price of the watch was announced as 1.238.5500 CHF.

Seiko Prospex’s 1968 Diver’s Re-creation was the award winning model for the sports watch award.
