Exploring divas’ dazzling dreams with Bulgari.
Bulgari's talent in jewelry and watchmaking, the perfection of its designs and the superiority of its artisanship are undeniable. Originally, from Rome, the brand gets its ability to design from Italy and its artisanship from Switzerland. Therefore, seeing Bulgari on top of many others is not surprising at all.
One of the most interesting collections introduced at LVMH Dubai Watch Week 2020 was Divas’ Dream. For this signature collection of the brand, we can say that it offers Italian femininity together with Swiss technology.
With the new models in the Divas’ Dream collection, Bulgari pushes the limits of form and function. The Divas’ Dream Minute Repeater Malachite (Ref. 103282) model, which touches complicated watchmaking with a jewelry approach, takes the first place among the newly introduced models; It combines Bulgari's iconic case design with ‘minute repeater’, one of the most difficult and valuable complications of luxury watchmaking. Furthermore, this model is the thinnest minute repeater watch for women.
Bulgari Divas’ Dream Finissima Minute Repeater Malachite beats with the Caliber BVL362, which we know from Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater (Ref. 103279). The hand-winding, dual gong movement, which is known as the world's thinnest minute repeater complication movement, provides 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The BVL362 has a total thickness of only 3.12mm, and we women love every aspect of thinness.
The Divas' Dream comes in an 18K white gold case with a 37mm diameter. All the lugs are covered with diamonds. The winding crown is also adorned with a faceted diamond. The case is only 9.40mm thick.
Except for the diamonds on the lugs, the watch's most attractive part for me is the dial. The dial, made of a precious stone, malachite, reflects the essence and identity of Bulgari. There are nine diamonds on the dial as markers where the off-centered second counter is also decorated with diamonds.
The Bulgari Divas as Dream Finissima Minute Repeater Malachite is limited to only 10 pieces and is complemented by a green alligator strap and an 18K white gold buckle that is also decorated with diamonds. The model has a total of 336 diamonds with an average of 4 carats.
The Caliber BVL191 powers divas’ Dream Peacock (Ref. 103263), featuring real peacock feathers on its dial and dazzling vivid colors. The automatic movement provides 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The watch's 37mm 18K white gold case and lugs are again adorned with diamonds. On the winding crown, a cabochon cut, pink tourmaline stands out. The case is 9.20mm thick and water-resistant up to 30 meters.
The Divas Dream Peacock comes on a blue alligator strap and an 18K white gold buckle with 76 diamonds (an average of 1.62 carats).
Another Divas’ Dream model introduced at the event is the Lapis Lazuli model, Ref. 103261 references. The 18mm rose gold case of the 30mm watch also features diamonds. The case is only 6.85mm thick and water-resistant up to 30 meters. Diamonds are used as markers on the Lapis lazuli dial. The quartz-powered watch comes on a blue alligator strap and an 18K rose gold clasp. The model features 90 diamonds (an average of 0.94 carats).
