Audemars Piguet has added a new model to its Perpetual Calendar series, one of the flagship model families of the Royal Oak product group.
The collection, which has a special place in the iconic product line of the brand, Royal Oak, underwent a comprehensive update in 2015 and was highly appreciated with its modern 41mm diameter case as well as the week indicator added to the perpetual calendar functions.
Audemars Piguet recently added a new version to its successful model family. Let's take a closer look at the new model, which will be sold primarily in the US market and then will be delivered to sales points in a limited number of other countries.
The new model comes with a 41mm diameter and 9.5mm high case. The case, which is made of ultra-light titanium alloy, has sapphire crystals with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. The case, in which glossy and matte surfaces are used together, is resistant to water pressure up to 20 meters only.
The dial, which combines Royak Oak design details with its blue ground color and “Grande Tapisserie” pattern, sports gray sub-dials, 18K white gold appliqué indices and Super-LumiNOVA coated hands. While the moon phase, day, date, month, and leap year information are read through the four sub-dials, the week information is viewed via the ring placed outside the dial.
Caliber 5134 gives life to the new model. The automatic movement with a central rotor offers a power reserve of up to 40 hours when fully wound.
The model comes with an integrated bracelet made of the same material as the case. The list price for the model, which will be sold in the US market as of September and in different regions of the world in limited numbers in October, is EUR 78,900.
