Audemars Piguet reinterprets the classic Royal Oak Chronograph model family with a new movement and cosmetic touches.
Since its introduction in 1972, the Royal Oak continues to be the most important model platform of Audemars Piguet. The collection serves as the ideal canvas for the brand, with its architecture open to development, versatile usage ranging from traditional to sports, and its model range offering a wide variety of timepieces from Quartz samples to High-Horology models.
The new model family comes with a 41mm diameter 18K rose gold case. The front and back of the classic Royal Oak Chronograph style case have sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating. The resistance of the case to water pressure is 50 meters.
Blue or brown options are available as dial choices. The dials, decorated with a refined “Grande Tapisserie” motif, are accompanied by Super-LumiNOVA phosphor-filled 18K rose gold hands and markers. The reflections of the difference in the size of the new generation movement on the dial include the positioning of the date window closer to the edge of the dial, swapping the position of chronograph minute and hour sub-dials, and the resizing of all-sub-dials.
The Caliber 4401 movement, which is the brand's own design and production, gives life to the model family. The automatic movement includes the chronograph function with integrated architecture and Flyback feature. 40 jewels / 367-piece movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers up to 70 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The new models are completed with an 18K rose gold bracelet or a hand crocodile leather strap.
The new series consists of four different versions in total. The model reference list is as follows;
