Audemars Piguet introduced two new Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon models equipped with dimple dials.
The product launch in the world of watches was generally in the form of brands presenting their new models to watch lovers in certain periods. The loss of popularity of physical fair organizations in recent years has changed the habit of coinciding with such promotions at the same time. The pandemic process and the development of online product promotion opportunities also allowed brands to announce their innovations independently of a certain platform. Some names, on the other hand, preferred to introduce their new models after teasers were shared on social media.
Two important but quietly introduced novelties in the industry came from Audemars Piguet, one of the building blocks of the industry's legendary quartet. The well-established brand has added two new models to the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon family.
The new models come with a 41mm diameter and 10.6mm high case. Available in 18K white and pink gold, the case sports the classic octagonal bezel on the front featuring AP’s frosted finish. The case, which has sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating on the front and back, is waterproof up to 50 meters.
The main innovation in the newly added models to the collection stands out in the dials. Tapisserie-style dial, which is almost identified with AP, leaves its place for circular brushed dials with dimple motifs. The 18K white gold model comes with a classic AP-blue dial, while the 18K pink gold model sports a chocolate brown dial. The dials, which were never seen before at AP, also feature baton hands and indices from the symbol details of the model family. The Flying Tourbillon escapement, which is a pleasure to watch, is located at 6 o'clock.
Caliber 2950 gives life to new models. The automatic movement with Flying Tourbillon beats at a frequency of 3Hz (21,600vph) and offers up to 65 hours of reserve time when fully wound.
Both models come with gold bracelets produced following the case material. Although not limited we expect the models to be produced in very small numbers. There is no officially announced price information yet the reference information about the models is as follows;
