The French brand Bell & Ross is under the spotlight with another model from its iconic model Instruments Collection, Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Blue Steel, which attracts attention with its deep blue dial.
Expanding its product range not only on a functional basis but also with different colors and new alternative materials, Bell & Ross continues to gain the appreciation of its loyal fans as well as many watch enthusiasts. The boutique brand, which has recently appeared on our pages with models featuring new materials and bold designs, is with us today with a relatively standard but still eye-catching model.
Designed using the brand’s platform with a 42mm case diameter, the model comes with a stainless steel case. The mostly satin-brushed case is equipped with an anti-glare treated and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on the front side. Hosting a solid metal case-back with information engraved on, the case waterproof up to 100 meters / 10 bar, which is sufficient for daily use.
Instruments Collection, which is based on the iconic design that made Bell & Ross popular, normally comes to the forefront with the models that are inspired by aircraft gauges. This situation, which is normal when considering the standard watches, is slightly less noticeable in the model we selected for the review. The only reason for this is the cobalt blue tone used on the background of the dial with a sunbeam pattern. The color is so successful that it leaves even the interesting design of the case behind. The design of the dial includes classic elements of the model family. Super-LumiNova® applied large-Arabic number indexes and thick hands allow a clear reading of the time in virtually any environment. The small date window is located between 3 and 4 o’clock.
Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Blue Steel is powered by the Caliber BR-CAL.302. The Sellita SW 300-based automatic movement operates at 4Hz (28,800vph) and offers a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound.
The model is available with a beautiful calfskin leather finished in matching blue tone. The lining is made of moisture-resistant material and the strap is accompanied by a stainless steel buckle with the B&R logo.
As we have mentioned in our review of similar models, the Bell & Ross Instruments Collection is not a watch for every taste. However, if you haven’t used a model from this range before and are looking for a starter model, the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Blue Steel may be the most successful model to make a smooth transition to this interesting model family.
