Breguet Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 the new alarm function model of the brand’s sporty Marine Collection, was one of the models that has been a little in the background but managed to attract attention as well at the Baselworld 2018 exhibition.
In a market that is widely dominated by the models like Vulcain Cricket and Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris, Breguet is another name that comes to mind when it gets to mechanical alarm featured luxury watches. This remains the same with the introduction of the new Marina Alarme Musicale series.
The new model is offered in a 40mm x 13.05mm that is available in 18K pink gold, 18K white gold and Titanium. 18K white gold version comes with a blue dial that identifies with the maritime while the elegance 18K pink gold version is offered with a white dial. The Titanium version is equipped with a brown dial which provides a sportier look.
Breguet reinforces its characteristic design with vertical lines on the sides of the case. The 24-hour time display at 9 o’clock and the sub-dial for the alarm function at 3 o’clock are the first things that attract attention. The pointer hand for the alarm function and the date display also have a large share in the dial. There are a pair of winding crowns that are used to adjust the time and alarm functions individually.
The case is equipped with sapphire crystals on both sides allowing the user to enjoy the movement in all its splendor. As with the other models of the series, the water resistance rating is set at 50 meters thanks to the case back that is fixed with 7 miniature screws and the screw-in winding crowns.
The Breguet Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 is powered by the in-house automatic Caliber 519F / 1. The 36-jewels movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), has 376 parts and a 45-hour power reserve time.
Thanks to the unique lug design of the case that is compatible with the natural curvature of the wrist, the model wears quite comfortably.
All models are offered with alligator or rubber straps that are in line with the dial colors. The straps are secured with folding clasps made of matching material with the case.
