The new chronograph model, Breguet Marine Chronographe 5527, added to the brand’s Marine Collection that stands out with its sporty character, does not compromise on elegance either.
The brand which came until today with the vision of Abraham Louis Breguet, the watchmaker for the French Army, blends traditional watchmaking with outstanding technical solutions in the newest member of the Marine Collection, Breguet Marine Chronographe 5527.
The new model is offered in three case options as 18K white gold, 18K pink gold and titanium. The case measures 42.3mm x 13.85mm. There are three dial colors depending on the case options. The 18K white gold versions sports a deep blue dial that identifies with the naval spirit, white the 18K pink gold version is offered with an elegant white dial. Titanium version is equipped with a brown dial to reinforce the model’s sportier presence.
The case is dominated with matt brushed surfaces excluding the mirror polished bezel. The sides of the case are finished with Breguet classic pattern proving that the collection is designed in a manner that is loyal to the brand’s DNA.
SuperLumiNOVA phosphorus material filled indices are arranged in Roman numerals and accompanied by a wave pattern in the center. Despite being elegant, I think this pattern makes the dial a bit busier than it should be. On the other hand, it is a relief to see the disk of the date display at 4:30 o’clock shares the same background tone with the dial.
The model is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides which allow the movement to be enjoyed. Thanks to the caseback that is fixed in place with 7 miniature screws and the screw-lock winding crown, the model is water resistant to 100 meters, which is sufficient for daily use.
Breguet Chronographe 5527 is powered by the fully in-house Caliber 582QA. 28 jewels self-winding movement beats at 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 48 hours when fully wound. Equipped with chronograph and date display features besides it time keeping function, the movement is made of 346 parts.
The overall wearing comfort of the model is excellent thanks to the exclusive lug design that is compatible with the natural curve of the wrist.
All versions in the collection are offered on alligator straps or rubber straps that are in line with the dial colors. Straps are secured with high quality folding clasps signed with the “B” logo.
