Known for its professional use oriented product line, Breitling introduced its latest bad boy the Avenger II Seawolf Blacksteel.

The trend for oversized watches seems to be losing its glory nowadays. However, there are some companies which still hold on to their tradition for big sized timepieces. Breitling is a good example in this regard with their oversized sport watches. Yes they are big but, they have their own style and appeal for the watch enthusiasts who still crave for the big bad boy image.

The stainless steel case is 45mm in diameter and 18.4mm high which makes the watch as thick as an ETA Valjoux 775X driven chronograph. The case features the brand’s highly appreciated “Blacksteel” treatment. It is a black carbon-based coating technique (a type of diamond-like carbon or DLC) that is also scratch-resistant. Rated to an impressive 3000m, or 10,000ft, the case features a helium escape valve for saturation diving.

The front side sports an AR coated sapphire crystal. The caseback is solid with typical Breitling engravings.

The dial sports a bright yellow color providing a striking contrast with the black theme. The uni-directional rotating bezel features Breitling’s famous rider tabs at the quarter markers.

The watch is powered with the Breitling Calibre 17 which is actually based on the tested and approved ETA 2824 with a bonus COSC certificate.
