Founded in 1884 and manufacturing worldwide respected timepieces, Breitling is one of the first brands to come to mind, if not the first, when we say, “aviation watches”. The brand, which has an important place in the development of chronographs in wristwatches, keeps developing its new models while keeping up with innovation, following the latest technological developments and creating contemporary designs by adhering to its roots in iconic models.

Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 41, the new series of Navitimer model family blends the best-known collection of Breitling with the brand’s classic design features. It is a model that can accompany you each day of the week, every hour of the day with its famous Breitling slide rule calculator bezel, 41mm stainless steel case, three-hand plain dial. Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling, agrees with us too: “The new Navitimer 1 Automatic 41 is the ideal model for cosmopolitan people. It features both unique and contemporary look while being inspired by the iconic Navitimer Ref. 806 and the three-hand Ref. 66 introduced back in the 1950s.

Moreover, in the Two-Tone version, the stainless steel case features a silver or anthracite dial with 18K red gold bezel. 41mm diameter case measures 10mm in height. The indexes are covered with Super-LumiNova, like the hour and the minute hand. Therefore, time can be read easily under any condition. The newest collection of the family that has an important place in watchmaking is powered by the Breitling Caliber 17. The movement, which is equipped with a bi-directional perforated oscillating rotor, offers a power reserve of 38 hours when fully wound. Like the rest of the Breitling models, the movement is COSC certified. The case back is solid and designed in screw-lock style. There are multiple options for the strap like the dial as well as the dial: black, blue or brown alligator straps with a standard pin-buckle or a folding clasp while the stainless steel Navitimer style bracelet is accompanied by a folding clasp.

Let’s get to the most exciting part; this modern-looking gentleman model, who shares the same DNA with his predecessor, has a MSRP of CHF 4,500. Considering that you will be adding a Breitling Navitimer to your collection, I think it’s safe to say that it is a “very reasonable” figure.
