George Kern has been resigned from Richemont Group last July and surprisingly became the new CEO of Breitling. The first model introduced after Kern seems to make a promising start before Baselworld.

The new Breitling Navitimer 8 B01 is offers retro inspired design details. The name, Breitling 8, comes from the Huit Aviation Department (huit meaning "eight" in French) that Breitling arranged in the 30s to manufacture onboard chronographs for aviators. At the time, the name referred to the highly efficient eight days of power reserve of the instruments.

The model comes in a stainless steel case measuring 43mm in diameter and 14.5mm in height. The case is equipped with a vintage style coin edge rotating bezel and it is water resistant to 100 meters.
