Breitling and Bentley are among the top names that come to mind when it comes to watch manufacturer and automobile brand partnerships. It is possible to talk about many special models within the scope of this long-standing partnership. These special versions, which were produced mostly by using Breitling's large cased, heavy and flashy models until now, have been replaced by more classic models that refer to the history of both brands. The Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green that we opted for review is among these new-generation models.
The model comes with a case designed in 42mm diameter and 13.65mm height. Sapphire crystals resistant to scratches are used on both sides of the case made of stainless steel. The front crystal is domed and sits slightly over the bezel, which adds the model a vintage look. Bentley and brand logo are engraved on the sapphire display case back. Water-resistant to 100 meters, the case is accompanied by such details as rectangular chronograph pushers and metal plate inspired by the instrument panel frame of classic Bentley cars that brought the Retro appeal and thematic aspects of the model to the fore.
The dial of the model is designed in British Racing Green, as emphasized in its name. This color tone, which is identified with the UK in the automobile and motorsports community, also underlined the model’s relation with cars. Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green comes with a Bi-Compax style dial layout, as expected from a classic chronograph. The sub-dials located at 3 and 9 o'clock are accompanied by a date window placed at 6 o'clock. The dial, which houses baton-style hands and indexes, takes on a sporty identity with its red-tipped second hand and the Tachymeter lettering in the same tone.
The model is powered by the brand’s new generation self-winding chronograph movement Caliber Breitling 01. 47 jewels, COSC certified model beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800vph) and offers up to 70 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model is accompanied by a green calfskin strap decorated with white stitching and secured by a matte stainless-steel folding clasp with the Breitling logo.
