Record holder Bulgari Octo Finissimo comes on a super-thin case and a bracelet once again. Of course, without compromising its beauty and elegance.
To be honest, the first time I put the titanium case and blue alligator strap Octo Finissimo Skeleton on my wrist, I was fascinated by its ability to create such a high quality perception on the wrist with minimal mass. I guess the number of people who feels and thinks like me must be a considerable figure as Bulgari wanted to excite the enthusiasts by crowning the “ultra-thin” game with ceramics.
The model that comes with a ceramic case measuring 40mm x 5.5mm in size feels amazing in terms both lightness and comfort. The case is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 30 meters. Back to that 5.5mm thickness. Fitting a pair of sapphire crystals along a skeleton movement and hands in to such a thin case is a work of great engineering. Shortly, it deserves appreciation.
Bulgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton Ceramic is powered by the manufacture Caliber BVL128SK. Hand-wound movement offers a 65-hour power reserve when fully wound. The four-hand movement has a thickness of only 2.23mm. On the dial side of the movement, the small seconds counter is located at 7:30 o’clock while the power reserve indicator is present at 9:00 o’clock. 28 jewels movement beats at 4Hz (28800vph).
The new model is offered on ceramic bracelet instead of a strap. The bracelet is as thin and comfortable as it is in the case. At this point, the fragility of ceramic comes to my mind but I do not want to think much about that. It is not pleasant to think about the possible damage that will occur if you do not pay enough attention to the bracelet (and the case, of course). It’s best to enjoy the anti-aging and virtually scratchproof features of ceramic.
The cost of having this special model is 24.500 €. It would be odd to think a model with such high quality from a brand like Bulgari will cost less. The good news is that you can go for the non-skeleton dial version powered by an automatic movement (with the same thickness) for € 15,500.
