Bulgari continues to be acclaimed with the black DLC and gold versions of the Octo L’Originale Solotempo and Chronograph models!
The brand, which makes watch enthusiasts’ hearts skip a beat with every new model, introduced the black DLC and gold versions of Octo L’Originale Solotempo and Chronograph models this year. The Octo L’Originale watches have the same architectural design as their Finissimo brothers, who won the ultra-thin watch battle. Some of the differences between these models come are a little thicker cases, sportier lines and more affordable prices.
Octo’s genius lies in the sculptural and dynamic case design. Although the design of the watch is considered as an example of contemporary art, the combination of the distinctive octagonal base and the round bezel reflects the architectural features of Ancient Rome. These shapes, which are very difficult to bring together, are specifically inspired by the ceiling decorations of the Basilica of Maxentius.
Both models have a case diameter of 41mm, but as you might expect, the thickness of the chronograph is slightly higher than the other. The difference between the opposing geometric shapes is supported by sandblasted stainless steel with black DLC coating and polished 18K rose gold. The gold winding crown also boosts the contrast. Both models have the same case anatomy with a round, black DLC-plated steel bezel based on a slightly protruding pink-gold octagonal platform. The cases, which are water resistant to 100 meters, are equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides.
The anthracite dials, which we have seen and liked in many models recently, are decorated with pink gold hands, indices and large Arabic number hour markers. The date display of the Solotempo is located at 3 o’clock, while the sub-dials on the Chronograph are placed at 3-6-9 o’clock positions.
Solotempo (Ref. 103085) is powered by the brand’s self-winding manufacture movement Caliber BVL 191 Solotempo, while Chronograph (Ref. 103075) is equipped with the Caliber BVL328 Velocissimo, based on the legendary Zenith EL Primero movement. Solotempo offers a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound and the Chronograph can go up to 50 hours in the same state.
Both models are offered on black rubber straps that are secured by DLC-coated pin buckles.
Octo L’Originale Solotempo comes with a price tag of 8.400 EUR while the Chronograph is available with a price tag of 11.500 EUR.
