Bulgari brings a new perspective to this classic complication with its new model equipped with the central Tourbillon feature.
The Tourbillon, which emerged out of necessity, has the distinction of being one of the symbol details of traditional watchmaking today. Although it serves the same purpose in terms of its working principle, the Tourbillon has different types within itself. Among them, perhaps the least we see is the central Tourbillon, which comes to life once again with the new Bulgari Octo Roma Central Tourbillon Papillon.
Positioning the tourbillon in the center is not a preferred style. This is due to the lack of pivots to fix the hour and minute hands on it. Bulgari, on the other hand, impresses with its ingenious solution to this problem.
First of all, there is no hour hand on the dial of the model. The 24-hour Jumping Hour indicator located at the 12 o'clock position undertakes the task of displaying the time. Showing the minute, on the other hand, is much more complex, but contains an ingenious solution. The minutes are displayed on the dial in a 180º range from 3:00 to 9:00. There are two minute hands on the dial. At any given time, one of them is rotated outward and is also positioned on the minute track. This hand shows the minutes that have passed the hour. Since the other hand opposite the disc that carries both is rotated 90º, it does not obscure the hour display when passing the 12:00 position. When the time changes, both minute hands rotate so that the minute hand at the beginning of the minute scale indicates the minutes passed.
As for the other features of the watch; The new model comes with a 41mm diameter case made of 18K rose gold. Sapphire crystals serve on the front and back of the case.
Caliber BVL 332, designed and produced by the brand in-house, gives life to the model. The hand-wound movement offers a power reserve of up to 60 hours when fully wound.
