Chopard celebrates the Year of the Dragon, this year's equivalent of the traditional Chinese calendar, with a new model produced specifically for the occasion.
Chinese New Year 2024 begins on Saturday, February 10, heralding the Year of the Dragon. The dragon figure, which has a special place in Chinese culture, represents power, strength, and good luck. Chopard, whose name is associated with luxury watchmaking, is among the watch brands that started to announce thematic models. The brand's latest addition to the Chinese Zodiac collection features a stunning dial meticulously crafted in Urushi polish and adorned with a fascinating dragon motif.
The exquisite dial of this limited-edition watch is handcrafted in Japan by Minori Koizumi, an artisan specializing in the delicate Maki-e technique. Each dial requires at least 20 hours of meticulous work. The dragon depicted with exquisite details adorns the dial with elegance.
As in previous years, the task of hosting this work of art falls to the elegant L.U.C XP model made of ethical 18K rose gold. The watch, with a diameter of 39.50mm, promises a very stylish and comfortable use with its elegant profile of 6.80mm. The most important role in achieving this fineness is played by the automatic L.U.C 96.17-L movement, which brings the model to life. This 3.30 mm thick caliber, which can be viewed with pleasure through the crystal case back, is wound with a 22-carat gold micro-rotor. The mechanism operates at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of up to 65 hours thanks to its double pump mechanism. As you would expect from the L.U.C collection, the movement features decorative details such as Cotes de Genève and perlage. The micro-rotor that powers the caliber is dazzling with its sunlight pattern and L.U.C logo.
Chopard L.U.C The stylish strap is complemented by a polished pin buckle made of ethical 18K rose gold. The list price for the model, which is limited to only 88 units, is 26,600 CHF.
