Chopard’s successful representative in the ultra-thin classic dress watch segment, XPS, is expanded with a new member. The new limited edition model, which was officially released at the recently ended Baselworld 2019 exhibition, attracts attention with its alternative winding crown location.
XPS series, which is in the product group of the famous brand for more than 20 years, is shown among the most refined examples of classic dress watches with its modern and elegant designs. The model family, which reflects the expertise of the brand not only aesthetically but also technologically, finds itself once again in our pages with a new member.
Chopard L.U.C XPS Twist Qualité Fleurier does not move away from the DNA of the concept in general terms, but it has re-arranged features according to today’s conditions. First of all, the case of the new model is designed as 40mm in contrast to the 36mm model debuted back in 1996. The case is 7.60mm thick, which is an adequate height for a timepiece to be classified as ultra-thin, and is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides. The 18K white gold case has a waterproofing value of 30 meters / 3 bar and features both glossy and satin finishes. The gold used in the watch is Fairmined certified proving that it was produced under ethical conditions. The winding crown positioned at 4 o’clock highlights the word Twist, from the model’s name.
The new model comes in a blue/gray galvanized tone dial with satin brush and sunbeam patterns. The 18K white gold case offers a sleek and elegant look with rhodium-plated triangle indexes and Dauphine Fusée hands. Placing the second hand at 6 o’clock in its own counter strengthens the classic theme of the model. The date display, which is designed with a background color that blends with the dial, is located at 3 o’clock position.
The model is powered by the fully manufacture Caliber L.U.C 96.26-L. Qualité Fleurier and C.O.S.C certified 29 jewels self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800vph) and offers a power reserve time of 65 hours when fully wound. Enjoyable through the sapphire crystal display case back, the movement is equipped with an elegant micro-rotor and is exclusively hand decorated.
Chopard L.U.C XPS Twist Qualité Fleurier (Ref. 161945-1001), which is limited to span of 250 units only, comes on an alligator strap in matching blue/gray color. Secured by an 18K white gold folding clasp, the strap is CITES-certified and plant-dyed, which are the details that express Chopard’s attitude for ethical production.
