Chopard has added a new one to its active brand partnerships in the world of motorsports. Collaborating with the Luftgekühlt event, which gathers Porsche enthusiasts under the same roof, the brand is crowning this exclusive partnership with a new limited edition model.
Luftgekühlt is an annual special event for auto and Porsche enthusiasts founded by racing driver and two-time Le Mans winner Patrick Long and Southern California's Howie Idelson, at Bottleworks District of Indianapolis. Chopard, one of the first names that come to mind in the world of watches with its organic connection to motorsports, started its brand partnership with this special event as of September 10. The famous brand appeared before its fans with a new limited edition model that emphasizes both the event and its focal point, Porsche.
The new model, designed over the Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Reserve, comes with a 43mm diameter stainless steel case. On the back cover of the case with sapphire crystals on both sides, there is the logo of the event, the limited production information of the model, and the 'Brescia > Rome > Brescia' route of the historical race. The case, hosting large crown guards and a thin bezel with a black insert 60-minute scale, successfully highlights the sporty theme of the model.
Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Luftgekühlt is equipped with a satin-finished metallic gray dial, a first in the Mille Miglia collection. Hosting typical Mille Miglia GTS Power Reserve design details, the dial features the characteristic power reserve time indicator, reminiscent of a fuel gauge, at 9 o'clock.
The Caliber 01.08-C, which powers the model, impresses with its elegant decoration as well as its 60-hour power reserve. The automatic movement, consisting of 251 parts, is wound with a central rotor made of tungsten alloy.
Limited to 50 pieces only, the model comes on a classic black calfskin strap with silver stitching and black rubber lining, inspired by holes in racing gloves and Dunlop racing tires of the 1960s. The stylish model is presented in a special box with a grille badge designed by the Luftgekühlt team and artists.
