Citizen introduced its new model equipped with the Caliber 0200, its first mechanical movement designed after a long time. The model includes the new movement that was produced in cooperation with the Swiss manufacturer La Joux-Perret, which it acquired in 2012.
The new model comes with a retro-designed case bearing traces of the brand's glorious past. The case, which nods to the luxury sports watch trend, one of the popular trends of recent times, is designed with a diameter of 40mm and a height of 10.9mm. The case, with sapphire crystals on the front and back, is resistant to water pressure up to 50 meters.
On the dial of the new model, a black background with a sandy surface, produced with a technique called Elctroforming, is used. The dial is decorated with the Citizen script and the classic eagle symbol of the brand, and a small seconds sub-dial designed with circular lines resting at 6 o'clock. Baton markers accompanied the dauphine-style hour and minute hands.
The Caliber 0200 movement, which shows at first glance that it is a Japanese-Swiss co-production in both mechanical and decorative terms, functions in the model. The 26-jewels automatic movement, which hosts the second free-sprung balance system after the Seiko Cal. 9SA5 movement, operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers up to 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The movement, which features Swiss design details with its thick bridges and perforated rotor, operates at an accuracy rate of -3 to +5 seconds per day. The caliber, which has been specially certified by Citizen, can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back.
The new model is accompanied by an integrated stainless steel bracelet, which is another indispensable part of Sport-Chic design details. The matt finished with polished accents bracelet is secured by a folding clasp.
