The world of watches is shaped by the influence of fashion and changing trends, just like every industry branch with a design element. These different trends, which sometimes appear in size, sometimes in color, and sometimes in material, find a place for themselves in the new collections of the brands and adorn the wrists of watch lovers.

One of the trends that have attracted attention recently is downsizing. Especially for watch enthusiasts like me, who love vintage models, it is a pleasing development that the eye-bleeding case diameters and exaggerated designs that look like ridiculously modified Far Eastern cars disappearing. I hope that this trend will not only become widespread in the watch world but will gain a stable place for itself.

Our guest today is Corum, which joined the downsizing trend with a new model, the redesigned version of the iconic product group Admiral with a 38mm case diameter (Ref: A082/04368 - 082.202.95/F371 AN25).

The new model comes with a 38mm diameter and 8.95mm high case. The stylish case, produced with black PVD coating on Grade 5 titanium alloy, is not only light and durable but also promises a more compact presence on the wrist with its darker color palette. The sporty case, which also includes a dodecagonal bezel, one of the signature details of the Admiral model family, hosts a screw-down crown placed between the guards decorated with two gold screws. Sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating serve on both sides of the case, which is waterproof up to 100 meters.

The new model is home to a Grenadier Fendu patterned dial, which was designed by the brand in 2019 and has become the symbol of the Admiral product group since then. Gold-tone components are used on the dial, which gains depth with this 3-dimensional pattern. The key-shaped logo of the brand greets us not only on the 12 o'clock marker but also on the tail of the second hand. Also, one of the signature details of the model family, the nautical pennant detail stands out in the hour markers. The stylish dial with a date window at 3 o'clock offers high legibility even in dark environments thanks to the SLN phosphor application.
