Introducing the Only Watch 2019 Satellite ‘Moon Satellite’ produced by two collaborating brands De Bethune and Urwerk.
It’s been a while since the watches for this year’s annual Only Watch auction, which makes a worldwide impression every year. Of all the participants, only one, in fact, two to be precise, did not show the finished product. De Bethune and Urwerk finally shared the results of their collaborative work with us, which is absolutely breathtaking.
De Bethune and Urwerk continue their lives with their extraordinary styles as two game-changing brands within the luxury watchmaking industry. These names, which elevate the limits of quality and originality out of the atmosphere with their models that are away from the ordinary lines of mass production brands and models, manufacture their watches for those who want to enjoy being “different”.
Both brands have characteristic design elements. De Bethune’s details in their moon-phase watches, engineering solutions for case and lug designs, the blue hue that almost integrates with the brand itself. On the other hand, there is Urwerk with its unique time display method, exclusive winding system and many more…
In fact, I was very excited to see these two names side by side when I was looking at the models for Only Watch 2019. When I look at the outcome, I can definitely say that it is worth the wait. The model, which has the unique details of both brands, deserves to be one of the most special examples ever.
The case and lugs are from De Bethune and the dial is directly from Urwerk. While Urwerk’s satellite method was used for time display, a small moon figure unique to De Bethune was added to the bottom of the dial. When you look at the back, you are left with the pure view of De Bethune style. Surely, with Urwerk’s modular system integrated… The case, which measures 43mm x 13.3mm, is made of Grade 5 titanium with mirror finish.
The model is expected to be sold in the price range of 120,000 - 150,000 CHF, which I am sure the model will exceed effortlessly.
