Would you like to visit the IWC headquarters on a private tour and watch the watchmakers in action without leaving your home?
With a new virtual experience, IWC Schaffhausen allows the watch enthusiasts to explore the brand's headquarters without leaving their homes. Thanks to Cyberloupe, the innovative technology of IWC, visitors will have the opportunity to watch a watchmaker in action while taking a personal tour of the museum and production center, through a live broadcast from Schaffhausen.
Virtual tours, which will have the same content as the tours with physical participation, will be organized following the interests of the visitors, accompanied by expert guides who provide detailed information in real-time. “Our visitors will experience an interactive, personal and unforgettable journey of discovery on our virtual tours,” said Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC. Wherever they are in the world, we will be happy to host them at our home in Schaffhausen. In this way, they will not only learn interesting information about our history and the complex engineering process behind our watches, they will get to know the world of IWC in a new and different way ”.
The trip will begin with an introduction to the brand's rich history after visitors are greeted at the production center by a guide. Short videos with live explanations and video links to different departments will give visitors the chance to see the center of watchmaking. In the journey, where every important step from the production of movement parts and cases to assembly will be explained step by step, guides will be able to provide information on more sophisticated subjects such as mechanical decoration or advanced case materials.
IWC's patented Cyberloupe technology has another feature; With the integrated camera and internet connection installed in a specially developed version of the magnifier used by watchmakers, the watchmaker's perspective can be brought to the viewers' screen in real-time. Thanks to this technology, visitors will be able to see the inner workings of a watch movement closely and learn the details of complications.
The new virtual tours will be launched on iwc.com from September 28th through IWC boutiques and resellers. For reservations and more information, you can contact [email protected].
