Frederique Constant, one of the first names to come to mind about affordable Swiss watches, added four new models to its Ladies Automatic collection this year. The new series is under the spotlight with its navy blue themed model (Ref. FC-318MPN3B6).
Designed for modern women looking for a classic watch for daily use, the four new Frederique Constant Ladies Automatic Small Seconds models stand out with their excellent price/performance value as well as creativity and distinction.
The difference between the models added to the collection is the new dial designs. The small-second indicator located at 9 o'clock adds an eye-catching asymmetry to the dial while referring to classic watchmaking with its Retro theme. In the dial, which offers optimum legibility with white hands and hour markers on a dark blue background, multiple surface forms, also known as sector-dial, are used together. In the center of the hours displayed in large Roman numerals, Frederique Constant has incorporated a popular pattern amongst its ladies models. The vertical chevron pattern produces a unique relief effect by capturing, reflecting, and diffusing the light. The dial, which gained momentum with this new Guilloché decoration, has a date window at 6 o'clock.
The new model comes in a 36mm diameter case, which is not modest at all for a classic-themed ladies' watch. The stainless steel case with a curved sapphire crystal on the front and a flat sapphire crystal on the back features an FC signed winding crown. The model is water-resistant up to 50 meters.
Frederique Constant Ladies Automatic Small Seconds is powered by the FC-318 movement. Sellita SW-300 based automatic movement offers 38 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model we have here comes with a dark blue alligator leather strap equipped with switch-pins that make changing the strap practical. At the end of the strap is a stainless steel folding clasp designed in the shape of the brand's logo.
