Frederique Constant appeals to adventurous sea lovers with its sporty model Yacht Timer GMT equipped with a second time zone, the favorite complication of frequent travelers.
The Geneva-based brand, which continues its activities under the Citizen Group, added the GMT feature to its product group for the first time in 2011 with a new in-house movement. The luxury brand, which won the appreciation of watch enthusiasts with its affordable models, started to use this travel-friendly complication in the maritime-inspired sporty Yacht Timer series as of 2019. The model we focus on today is the blue-themed model of the Yacht Timer GMT family, Ref. FC-350NT4H6.
The Frederique Constant Yacht Timer GMT comes in a 42mm diameter stainless steel case. The case, in which matte and glossy surfaces are used together, offers a stylish and sporty presence with its thin bezel, curved front sapphire crystal, and elegant lug design. The case, which is resistant to water pressure up to 100 meters, is accompanied by a sapphire crystal case back and an FC signed winding crown.
The dial of the model comes with a dark blue background that is perfectly suited to the nautical theme. With its Guilloché background pattern, Super-LumiNOVA filled hands and indices complement the sport-chic concept. The red-tipped GMT hand placed in the center indicates the 24-hour scale that shows the second time zone in two different colors. In this user-friendly version of the second time zone complication, nighttime is displayed in dark blue and daytime in light gray. There is also a date display at 3 o'clock on the dial.
Frederique Constant Yacht Timer GMT gets its power from the Caliber FC-350 movement. The automatic movement, which is based on the Sellita SW300, has a second time zone module developed by the brand in-house. The movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers up to 38 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The caliber, which offers minimum details in terms of decoration following the model’s price range, can be viewed through the sapphire crystal display case back.
The stylish model is accompanied by a dark blue alligator strap that matches the dial color and a steel folding clasp with an FC emblem. All models in the Frederique Constant Yacht Timer GMT series are available with an additional rubber strap in the box set.
