From Space To Oceans – Swatch

Blancpain X Swatch collaboration is coming to shake the watch world. Again.

All planets in the solar system + Sun + Moon = Swatch with more than double the profit from the previous year. This is the mathematical formula of Moonswatch models for me. After being discussed a thousand times, I won't rewrite how successful this project was for both Swatch and Omega (hence again Swatch). I don't see the need to go into "little" details such as scratched cases even when changing the straps, broken chronograph buttons, faded battery covers, and the second hand that cannot be reset at exactly 12 position.

According to reports, Moonswatch has been a tremendously successful product. Contrary to fears, the reputation of Omega and Speedmaster did not decrease, on the contrary, their sales and awareness increased. Moreover, brand new Moonswatch models are offered for sale every full moon, the adventure never ends.

Then, suddenly, news of a new collaboration appeared in the newspapers full-page: Blancpain X Swatch. My interest in Blancpain goes back many years. While searching for the answer to the question of what is the best diver's watch, the Fifty Fathoms model, which I came across, conquered my heart with its bezel made of sapphire crystal and then cooled itself dramatically with its dimensions. We've come across many versions of Fifty Fathoms over the years. They hosted all sorts of complications. They have released limited and unlimited models. They did, they tried...

Next move; Destroying Blancpain's dignified stance and promoting it to the masses. I am exaggerating, I think, that the total number of news about Blancpain since 1735 is less than what has been written in the last week. You know the motto of the brand: Blancpain has never made a quartz watch and never will! Don’t worry. The automatic movement of the System 51 is also included in the new watches.

Let's look at the information we have; Plastic case measuring 42.3mm x 14.4mm, sorry bioceramic case, automatic movement with a 90-hour power reserve and of course the Blancpain logo on the dial. The straps are made of nato fabric and recycled plastic. In the first stage, 5 different versions will be introduced, specific to 5 oceans. Don't worry, a new version will be added to the series at every opportunity! I'm already looking forward to the Cabotage Festival special model. As if Fifty Fathoms lives up to its name, the water resistance value of the new models is 91 meters, or 50 fathoms.

They were introduced with different color themes of the watches that will be produced specifically for each of the Pacific (Great), Atlas, Indian, Southern and Arctic oceans. Blue, yellow, beige, green and white. At least they would come out with a black or gray version.

Moonswatch models caused endless queues in front of Swatch dealers. Let's see if these models will cause us to see people lounging in front of shopping malls. For the $ 400 price tag of the watch, I leave the comment to you. Plastic, Swatch and $400... Finally, the name Blancpain comes from the surname of its founder, Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, and means white bread. I hope this information will put a smile on your face during your next Blancpain encounter.
