Flowers, emotions, symbols... Girard-Perregaux's Cat’s Eye Lotus model carries one of nature's most beautiful creations to the wrists as a day/night indicator.
While all the bad events that keep the world agenda going on are happening, we are losing ourselves to the seasons and continue to enjoy the sun, rain, day and night, just like everybody. As spring knocks on our door, some details make us move. Like blooming flowers!
As the time for ready-to-bloom started, I want to talk about a model that I said, “it was a good time to review such a model”; Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Lotus. The Cat’s Eye collection, which is completely reserved for women, contains characteristic combinations of mechanical movements and elegant shapes. Every time you look at the watch, you admire once again the pure aesthetics and attention to detail.
Girard-Perregaux often draws on the power of flowers and symbolism in the designs of models from the Cat’s Eye collection. The lotus flower used in the model I have here is one of the plants that live on the water without the need for soil. This flower, which grows in polluted waters, is not affected by pollution, unlike where it grows, and does not hold dust due to the nature of its leaves. In addition to its physical features, lotus, which has a great place in mythology, some religions and meditation methods, is known as the symbol of spiritual awakening.
Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Lotus comes with a 35.40mm stainless steel case. The case of the watch is adorned by 65 pieces of diamonds with an average of 0.85 carats in total. The oval case form specially selected for Cat’s Eye provides an ideal environment for the placement of lotus and moon figures used as a day/night indicator. With its delightfully balanced dimensions, curved lugs, and non-reflective sapphire crystal, the watch fits the shape of the wrist in the most elegant way possible. The case is water-resistance up to 30 meters.
The Guilloché pattern adorns the mother of pearl part of Cat’s Eye Lotus. Thanks to this design, you focus on the center every time you look at the dial. The mother of pearl part, which is raised to give a sense of depth and volume, represents the horizon. In the middle part of the horizon, there is a mother of pearl and moon made by a skilled miniature-painting artist.
The lotus flower, which closes its leaves at night and opens during the day, works in the same way in the Girard-Perregaux Cat's Eye Lotus model. The user does not need to make any additional adjustments for this complication that reflects the essence of nature. After setting the time from the flower-shaped winding crown, all you have to do is enjoy this beauty.
Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Lotus is powered by the manufacture self-winding Caliber GP03300 that provides a minimum of 46 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model is completed with a satin-like silver-gray calfskin strap and a stainless steel buckle.
