Azure blue sapphire crystal case, legendary Girard-Perregaux bridges... Limited to eight units only, the Quasar Azure collects all the spotlights on its sapphire crystal case.
Girard-Perregaux, one of the oldest watchmakers in Switzerland, has proven that it specializes in sapphire crystal cases with its Quasar Light and Laureato Absolute Light models as well as traditional watch models. With the Quasar Azure model, the brand takes its expertise a step further.
Sapphire is known as one of the materials that are very difficult to process due to its hardness. Quasar Azure's case took more than 200 hours to form, color, mill, and polish by Girard-Perregaux artisans. When the case is completed, it is of great importance that it has a neat nuance and does not contain any residue. The model's 46mm meticulous case shows resistance to water pressure up to 30 meters.
The azure blue case of the Girard-Perregaux Quasar Azure is home to a tourbillon that seems to be floating, and bridges with the reflections of the pocket watch 'La Esmeralda', which was awarded by the gold medal in the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889. The bridges made of titanium are placed on the NAC coated main plate, highlighting the smallest details of the movement. This valuable heritage is revealed with transparency engineering. In the sapphire crystal box case, time is displayed with luminescent, 'Dauphine' style, skeletonized white gold hands.
The model beats with the fully skeletonized automatic movement GP09400-1035 that provides a minimum of 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
Completed with a metallic anthracite fabric strap and titanium DLC buckle, the model meets the watch enthusiasts with a price tag of 274,000 CHF. The watch comes with an extra blue crocodile leather strap.
