Girard-Perregaux showed up with a new version of Laureato, its successful member in the sport-chic concept. The new model, designed to crown the 45th anniversary of the cult model family, bears the successful watch customizer Bamford's signature.
The Laureato Collection, re-introduced with a line of limited editions in 2016 and followed by serial production models a year later, constitutes the flagship product group of the GP in the luxury sports watch concept today. The collection, which continues to decorate the brand's catalogs with different variants, continues to develop with a new model today.
The new model comes in a 38mm diameter and 10.20mm high case, which we can call unisex in today's conditions. The case, which includes characteristic Laureato design details, is made of white ceramic material. Sapphire crystals are used on the front (with anti-reflective coating) and on the back of the case, which also features an octagonal bezel, one of the signature elements of the model family. The stylish case, accompanied by a black PVD coated titanium crown, is resistant to 100 meters of water pressure.
Designed in partnership with Bamford, one of the successful representatives of the Custom Watch concept, the model is accompanied by a white Clous de Paris patterned dial. Baton type markers and hands, framed in contrast black and filled with white Super-LumiNOVA phosphor, offer optimum legibility in almost any environment. The Zebra patterned seconds hand in the center emphasizes the black & white contrast concept of the model. The dial, which has the GP logo in black at 12 o'clock, also features the name of Bamford, who played a significant role in the design of the model. The date window at 3 o'clock is easy to read with its white-background disc and offers an image that is suitable for the integrity of the dial.
The new model comes to life with the in-house Caliber GP03300-0139. The automatic movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and provides 46 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model, which is limited to a span of 45 pieces only, is available with a white calfskin strap or a white ceramic bracelet. Girard-Perregaux X Bamford Laureato Ghost Limited Edition will be available for sale at Dover Street Market and Harrods store for a month from November 19, 2020, in addition to authorized Girard-Perregaux retailers.
