Glashütte Original expands the SeaQ series, its compact diver model with vintage inspirations, with a new model featuring a green dial as well as a green bezel insert.
The Glashütte Original SeaQ series is part of the Saxon brand's Spezialist Collection. The model family, also known as the compact member of the collection, is based on the brand's 1969 Spezimatic Type RP TS 200 diver's watch. After black and blue, the product line also brings green, one of the most popular colors of recent times, to its dial.
The model, which has design details reminiscent of the Skin-Diver concept that is always on the radar of vintage watch enthusiasts, comes with a 39.5mm diameter and 12.15mm high case. The front side of the case sports an AR-coated and domed sapphire crystal along with the diver bezel equipped with a green ceramic insert, while the rear side features a solid stainless steel case back. The case, offering matte and glossy surfaces together, is equipped with a signed screw-in winding crown and is water-resistant to 200 meters.
The new model sports a matte green dial. The dial features both Arabic numerals and baton indices as well as large hour and minute hands. Thanks to the silver-colored Super-LumiNOVA phosphor applied accents, the dial offers excellent legibility in almost any environment. The date display window is at 3 o'clock.
Glashütte Original SeaQ Reed Green, like the previous versions of the series, beats with the Caliber 39-11 movement. The 25-jewels automatic movement, designed and produced by Glashütte Original, operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers 40 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The new model comes in three different references a 3-link stainless steel bracelet, a grey nylon strap, or a black rubber strap. For now, the model is available exclusively in the USA. Available worldwide in May 2021.
