GPHG Unveils Its Official 2018 Pre-Selection

The jury of the 18th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) unveils the 72 pre-selected watches competing to win one of the 16 prizes that salute the year’s finest watch creations, including the prestigious Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix.

The winners will be announced on Friday, November 9th at the 18th annual GPHG awards ceremony held in Geneva’s Théâtre du Léman. Mr Johann Schneider-Ammann, Federal Councillor and Economic Affairs Minister, shall attend the ceremony along with Genevan authorities and industry representatives. French actor and producer Edouard Baer shall MC the event that broadcasts live on Euronews, gphg.org, TimeZone, and other media partner websites.

Ahead of the awards ceremony, the 2018 roadshow kick offs in Venice on September 28th with an event organised at the Arsenal in partnership with BMW Italy. The 72 pre-selected watches then travels to Hong Kong, and exhibit in the Liang Yi Museum on October 10th and 11th. After that, the watches travel to Singapore to exhibit at The Hour Glass Malmaison from October 17th to 21st.

Upon returning to Geneva, the 72 watches will take up residence in the Palatine rooms of the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire (MAH) from November 1st to 14th, where the GPHG will organise a multi-facetted exhibition dedicated to watchmaking art and culture, with the support of several local institutions.
