Grand Seiko added two new references to its 36.5mm diameter series, based on the legendary model 44GS.
The new models are added to the sub-product group with a compact case diameter of the 44GS model on which the brand is based. The elegant case, designed with a diameter of 36.5mm and a height of 11.6mm, promises a comfortable experience on almost every wrist, with its lug-to-lug distance of 42.7mm. The matte and glossy surface patterns of the stainless steel case feature traditional Zaratsu finishing, which is frequently used by the brand. The stylish case, complemented by a high-edged sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating and a solid screw-in case back, also offers a water resistance value of 100 meters.
The newly added models to the series feature fan-patterned dials, which are considered symbolic elements of Japanese culture. The dials, which give the models a sporty character thanks to their moving surface pattern, come in white and dark blue options. The dials, which highlight the solemn theme of the model with their symmetrical designs, are accompanied by the GS logo on the applique, as well as beveled and faceted hands and indices.
SBGW297 & SBGW299 are powered by the Caliber 9S64 movement, which we will remember from different models of the same subgroup. Reinforcing the neo-classical theme of the models with its hand-wound architecture, the movement oscillates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve time of up to 72 hours when fully wound.
The new models are accompanied by an 18mm wide stainless steel bracelet consisting of three-piece links. Stylish models, fixed to the wrist with a clasp with the GS logo, are added to the standard (non-limited) collection.
