Celebrating its 60th anniversary in March last year, Grand Seiko introduced a special series of models to crown this meaningful occasion. In addition to the new models, another remarkable innovation was the brand's engineering-marvel movement, Hi-Beat Caliber 9SA5. With the new Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 9SA5 "Shirakaba" SLGH005, which the famous brand introduced recently, this special movement was freed from the monopoly of limited models.

The new model comes in a stainless steel case with the same architecture as the SLGH002 and SLGH003. Designed with a diameter of 40mm and a height of 11.7mm, the case dazzles with its finish applied using the famous Zaratsu technique. The case with a high-edged and domed sapphire crystal on the front and a cover with sapphire crystal on the back is resistant to water pressure up to 100 meters.

The SLGH005 comes with a metallic gray dial that offers the Grand Seiko philosophy in all its details. Used in the background pattern of the dial and giving its name to the model, Shirakaba is inspired by the trees known as "Paper Birch". The elegant dial is accompanied by the blue second hand, the faceted hour/minute hands, and applique indices manufactured with perfect precision. There is a window for the date display at the 3 o'clock position of the dial.
