While innovative ideas are evolving in the industry on the one hand, the Re-Issue concept still remains popular on the other. Especially well-established brands are producing very successful models at this point. The latest example of such models comes from Hamilton, which has been producing watches since 1892 with the recently introduced Intra-Matic 68 model.

In 1968, Hamilton showed up with two new models; Chronograph Type A and Type B. The Chronograph A model included the "panda" lay-out with black sub-dials over white background, while the Chronograph B carried a "reverse panda" type dial with two white sub-dials on a black background. This color combination, which is very popular in the 60’s and 70’s, once again came to the fore with the Re-Issue concept that came to life with Hamilton.

The new model is offered in a 42mm diameter case in line with the modern men’s size sports chronographs. The stainless steel case sports a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the front side and it is water resistant to 100 meters.

Readability, which is one of the greatest features of Panda dials, is also at its best in this model. Moreover, the SuperLuminova phosphor material addition, which is not in the original model, increases the readability performance of the watch at night. The cream color used in the sub-dials, also preferred in the tachymeter scale. In line with the Re-Issue concept, the Hamilton logo is also applied in vintage style.

The timepiece is powered with the Caliber Ref. H-31. The self-winding movement beats at 28800vph and offers 60 hours of power reserve when full wound. H-31 features a pair of chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o’clock positions and a date display window at 6 o’clock.

The Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 comes with a perforated strap inspired by motor sports. The black calf leather strap is accompanied by Hamilton-signed stainless steel buckle.

The model, limited to 1968 units only, will be presented in a special box and hit the sales corners with a price list of 2,150 CHF.
