This novelty differs from its previous versions with the new color lay out and a slightly re-tuned dial that now has a multi level design which gives the watch the 3D form.
The three-dimensional lay out of the dial guides the eye to the desired function, whether it is one of the three chronograph sub-dials, or the date window at the 9 o’clock position, or the surrounding rim and the turning bezel. Rather then employing the usual chronograph sub dials, the limited edition Hamilton Khaki X-Wind sports more attractive totalizers that are designed to resemble aircraft gauges. They all feature nicely stylized metal frames. They do not provide the best legibility, but they surely give an exclusive style to the new Khaki X-Wind watch. There is also a drift angle calculator scale which surrounds the dial surface and it is matched by another scale on the bezel.
Hamilton Khaki X-Wind LE features the skeletonized hands that have been carefully designed to look like cockpit instruments. To improve legibility, Hamilton used SuperLuminova application for the hour markers and hands.
The watch is housed in a round case made of stainless steel. Its robust case measures 45mm in diameter and features three crowns and a pair of chronograph pushers. Two crowns which are located at 2 and 4 o’clock positions are used to operate the drift angle calculator.
The movement inside the Khaki X-Wind is the Swiss made Hamilton H-21 automatic chronograph caliber which is based on the well known Valjoux 7750. The self-winding mechanism is built on 25 jewels and has the vibrations per hour rate of 4 Hz. The stunning mechanism comes with super tuned power reserve of 60 hours when compared to the usual 42 hours.
The watch sports double antireflective sapphire crystals. The see-through sapphire crystal case back allows you to enjoy the beautifully finished caliber. There is “H” decoration on the bridges and a large Hamilton signature on the oscillating rotor.
The water resistance of the case is assured down to 100 meters (about 330 feet).
The new Hamilton watch comes attached to a black rubber strap with an H-shaped steel pin buckle. ( there is also the option of a stainless steel bracelet )
Hamilton offers four versions of the Khaki X-Wind Limited Edition range. The color scheme of the dial is available in two options: one in brushed black and brushed dark gray accents, whereas the other one combines sun ray silver coloring and brushed dark gray.
This new model is produced in the limited series of 1,999 pieces in each dial combination.
