Hamilton, one of the rare American-origin brands in the world of watchmaking, has taken its place among the brands that release models dedicated to the traditional Chinese star calendar. The draft determined by the well-established brand for this special model was the Ventura Elvis80 Skeleton, one of the cult designs of the watch world.
The story of Ventura, one of the original designs of luxury watchmaking, dates back to the 1950s, which are considered among the most productive eras in design. American designer Richard Arbib, who was acclaimed for his work at General Motors, managed to capture the 'atomic age' atmosphere of the 1950s with the strong triangular case design he designed for Ventura and gave life to one of the unique designs of the watch world. Ventura, popularized by the King of Rock 'n' Roll in the movie Blue Hawaii and then again with the Men in Black trilogy in the late 1990s, is celebrating the upcoming Year of the Dragon with two special models.
The new models come with a stainless-steel case with pink gold and black PVD coating options. The case, measuring 42.5mm x 44.6mm x 12.3mm, has sapphire crystals on the front and back. The characteristically designed case is water resistant up to 50 meters.
On the dial of the thematic models, engraved dragon head figures attract attention. The dial, which stands out with its eye detail worked in red on the black version and green on the rose gold version, has perforated sections.
The series is powered by the Caliber Hamilton H-10, based on Powermatic 80. The automatic movement, which operates at a frequency of 3Hz (21,600vph), stands out with its 80-hour power reserve when fully wound.
The sticker price for the models, available on a black leather strap with a scaly form resembling dragon skin and a buckle manufactured to match the case material, is CHF 1,895.
