Hublot, which combines many alternative materials and different designs under the same roof as per its famous Art of Fusion motto, blinks to the users who travel in style with the Big Bang Unico GMT Carbon, which attracts attention with its easy setting GMT feature and carbon details.
HUBLOT Big Bang Unico GMT collection features different versions, which use the same mechanical architecture and design language. The models are distinguished by a choice of titanium, carbon and King Gold materials. The version we have here is the Ref.4 71.QX.7127.RX model.
The model comes in a classic Big Bang style case, which we are familiar with many different models. Designed with a diameter of 45mm, the case has a sporty and bold presence thanks to the dark-crafted carbon material. Equipped with scratch-resistant sapphire crystals on both sides, the case is water-resistant to 100 meters / 10 bars, as in the other models in the product group.
The blue tone, which is a common point of all models in the collection, has found its place in the piece between the case and the bezel as well as the pushers. The bezel, which is also made of carbon material, is prepared with the 24-hour scale that we are used to seeing in GMT-function models. The scale that features baton and Arabic numeral fonts has a boosting effect on the busy and complicated look of the model.
The dial is designed in a skeleton style. The legibility of the baton-style hands is a bit weak because the movement covers the background. The minute scale on the outside of the dial and the day/night indicator in the center provide a clear and fast reading of all functions, especially after familiarization. However, it is not the most user-friendly watch with the GMT function, which we are used to seeing as a Tool Watch feature.
The collection uses the brand’s manufacture Caliber HUB1251 movement. 358 parts (41 jewels) self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound. Featuring an integrated and easy setting GMT function that can be set with a pair of pushers can be enjoyed in full details through the front and rear sapphire crystals.
A groove pattern blue rubber strap accompanies all models in the collection, which is also compatible with the brand’s patented quick strap change system. As per the concept for the model we have here, the strap is secured by a black PVD coated titanium folding clasp with carbon accents.
