Just one and a half years after Hublot started its partnership with Save Our Rhino Africa India (SORAI), the famous Swiss watchmaker announced its second limited-edition Big Bang UNICO SORAI model. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the new model will be donated to Care for Wild, a giant rhino sanctuary in South Africa supported by SORAI.
Founded by Kevin Pietersen, SORAI is an initiative that works with many organizations and partners to help protect endangered animals. Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, founded in 2001, is known as the largest rhino sanctuary and orphanage in the world. Located within the lush green borders of Barberton Nature Reserve in South Africa, the facility continues to expand.
The new model comes in a Big Bang style case measuring 45mm in diameter and 15.45mm in height. Ceramic is used as the material in the case, which is produced in a green tone, the popular color of recent times. Sapphire crystals are used on the front and back of the case, which can withstand water pressure up to 100 meters.
In the skeleton-style dial, the same green-tone accents in line with the case stand out. There is a stylish rhino figure on the counter at 9 o'clock on the Bi-Compax chronograph dial.
The model, which beats with the 72-hour power reserve automatic chronograph Caliber Hublot MHUB1242, comes with two strap options as a camo-effect rubber and a green fabric strap.
For the model that will only be produced with 100 units, Hublot does not list exactly what percentage of each sale will go to the SORAI and Care For Wild organizations, but it also clearly states that the majority of sales will be allocated to the protection of orphan baby rhinos.
