Hublot offers one of the most extreme representations of Fusion Art with its striking model Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Ceramic, designed in collaboration with Richard Orlinski, a brand partner since 2017.
It is possible to say many things about Hublot, but one of the words we are sure will not be among them is ordinary. The brand, which follows its Art of Fusion motto, offers extraordinary models continuing its leadership in this area not only with alternative materials but with different designs and various partnerships.
Hublot, which works with successful athletes and artists in its models beside brands operating in different fields, has been collaborating with the famous French artist Richard Orlinski since 2017. In all of Orlinski's creations, it is possible to see the sharp-edged, three-dimensional form that has become his signature. Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Ceramic is inspired by very this style. However, it is not only the form that stands out in the model but also the material and color!
The case of the watch is made of ceramic alloy, which is one of the most popular materials in the industry. The choice of colors and the perfection of the surface work, showcase Hublot's mastery of processing this material. The bright red ceramic case measures 45mm in diameter. The case sports a black Hublot signed crown, a pair of chronograph pushers, and 6 H-shaped bezel screws.
The ceramic used for the model's case and angular bezel took Hublot’s R&D team four years to create, using a special process that uses pressure and heat to sinter the ceramic without burning the pigment. The result of this process was a secret formula, protected by several patents, for a new alloy that achieved the hard-to-get red coloring among a greater hardness than previous ceramics.
The boldly chosen color evokes the 2004 Born Wild Crocodile sculpture, which used strong red tones as part of Orlinksi's Pop Art style. The sharp-edged geometric shapes and angled lines on the case body, protrusions, and bezel also scream that the design belongs to Orlinski. The case with sapphire crystal glasses on both sides can withstand water pressure up to 50 meters.
The dial of the model, designed in skeleton style and a Bi-Compax chronograph layout, features black and red details. Behind the sapphire crystal-based dial, red-lacquered hands, indices, and sub-dials draw attention along with the industrial-look movement.
Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Ceramic comes to life with the Caliber HUB1155, which we remember from many models from the brand. 60-jewels automatic movement beats at a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz) and offers 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The caliber, which supports the contrary design of the model with its darkened components, also has a date feature besides the chronograph function.
Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Ceramic comes with a red color palette matching rubber strap and a black PVD coated stainless steel folding clasp. Considering that the model was introduced in 2018 and was limited to only 200 units, it looks pretty hard to get, but somehow(!) we have a feeling that it’s not sold-out yet.
