Hublot Spirit Of Big Bang Meca-10

Hublot redefines the standards in movement/case compatibility with its extraordinary model family Spirit Of Big Bang Meca-10, which comes to life with the Meca-10 movement that attracts attention with its 10-day power reserve.

When it comes to Hublot, the first things that come to mind are the unique case designs, alternative materials, and, of course, the integrated bands. Known mainly for the Classic Fusion and Big Bang model families, the brand has another collection that we haven't seen many examples around: Spirit Of Big Bang. The product line, which cannot avoid being the focus of polarized comments with its Tonneau shaped case, showed up at the LVMH Group event held in Dubai at the beginning of the year with its models equipped with the famous Meca-10 movement. Let's take a closer look at this interesting collection.

Although the collection is not similar to the Hublot designs we are used to or, at least, expected, it inevitably brings to mind some different(!) brands with the effect of the Tonneau case. However, the element that makes this collection special is the perfect harmony between the case and the movement.

Hublot Spirit Of Big Bang Meca-10 comes in a 45mm diameter and 14.45mm high Tonneau-style case with Titanium, 18K King Gold, and Black Magic ceramic alternatives. The case, with sapphire crystals on both sides, can withstand water pressure up to 50 meters. On the front of the case, there is the bezel that is fixed with 6 H-head screws, one of the symbol details of the brand.

Hublot uses a skeleton-style dial to enjoy its proud and joy Meca-10 movement. Equipped with baton-style markers and thick hands, the dial makes it possible to read the time in almost any environment, thanks to the Super-LumiNOVA phosphor application. The movement contributes to the high-tech image of the model with its blackened and partially perforated components. The power reserve indicator is at 3 o'clock, where the small second's counter rests at 9 o'clock.

The model family features the manufacture Meca-10 Hublot Caliber HUB1233. The hand-wound movement with 228 parts/26 jewels operates at a frequency of 3Hz (21.600vph) and offers an enormous power reserve of 10 days when fully wound. The technical details of the movement are not limited to these. The Meca-10, which was not designed for a Tonneau-style case in the first place, contains many significant changes for the Spirit of Big Bang. The usual round main-plate is replaced by bridges with a fixed length on either side of a ring, which serves as a base for the movement. The space gained in this way allows the adaptation of the double barrels, which provide a 10-day power reserve.
