IWC has added three new 43mm diameter versions to its iconic Big Pilot's Watch model family. The new members of the collection nod to the watch enthusiasts, who wanted to get the Big Pilot but hesitate due to the oversized dimensions of the original version.
The model family, which is included in the IWC product group with three new references, comes with a case measuring 43mm in diameter and 13.6mm in height. The steel case, which consists of matte-weighted surfaces, successfully represents the professional instrument identity of the concept. The large onion-shaped crown, which is among the signature details of the Big Pilot concept, also takes place in the 43mm model family. The case, which has sapphire crystals on both sides, is produced to withstand sudden pressure changes, a feature vital for pilot's watches. The model that appeals to a wider user profile with its relatively compact design also brings the option of a stainless steel bracelet, which is a first in the Big Pilot's Watch family. With its redesigned proportions, the case promises a comfortable use without departing from the Big Pilot DNA and gives the green light to many water activities with its 100 meters water resistance rating.
The new model family is offered with a blue dial alternative in addition to the classic black color. Equipped with printed large numeral hour markers, a double dotted triangle at 12 o'clock, and wide phosphor-filled hands, the dial does not have any extra features such as a date window.
The new models are powered by the manufacture Caliber 82100. The self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and is wound by an IWC signed perforated rotor. The caliber, which can offer a power reserve time of up to 60 hours when fully wound thanks to the Pellaton system patented to the brand and its twin-barrel design, can be enjoyed through the sapphire crystal display case back.
