IWC, which mostly reserved the year 2017 for the renewed Da Vinci Collection predominantly known for its classical style, was also acclaimed by the IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Tourbillon Retrograde model which was quietly introduced at the SIHH 2017.
The brand focused mostly on the Da Vinci Collection, which is known with its classic style models, Beside the Da Vinci novelties, IWC presented several new models during SIHH 2017. Portofino Hand-Wound Tourbillon Retrograde was one of the most acclaimed models among those novelties.
The new model is offered in an 18K pink gold case measuring 45mm in diameter. The case sports scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and it is water resistant to 30M. With its 12mm total thickness, the case promises a comfortable use despite its wide diameter. All functions are adjusted by the single winding crown which is finished elegantly as the rest of the case. Thanks to its thin smooth bezel and short lugs, the timepiece looks a tad bigger than 45mms.
The plain white dial of the new model features pink gold hands and indices. The Tourbillon escapement is visible through the port hole at 6 o’clock position. The retrograde date display and power reserve indicator sub dials are located at each half of the dial.
The new model is powered by the IWC Caliber Ref. 59900. The hand-wound movement beats at 28800vph and offers an impressive 8 days power reserve when fully wound. Besides the Tourbillon complication, the caliber sport retrograde style date display and power reserve indicator.
IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Tourbillon Retrograde is presented with a brown alligator "Santoni" strap and a folding clasp made of 18K pink gold.
The model, which is planned to be offered for sale with a price tag of 64900.00 EUR, is expected to reach sales points by the second half of 2017.
