Only a few days to the highly anticipated SIHH 2017, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the latest member of its iconic Geophysic Collection. The new model draws attention by being the very first timepiece to feature worldtimer and flying tourbillon complications together at the same time.
The new model’s solid platinum case measures 43.5mm in diameter and 11.24mm in height.
The dial is designed in blue and white tones and features a Guilloche finish. The flat style world figure is present as we know it from the non-tourbillon version. At first glance, it seems a bit complicated, but it is actually a very practical use of the world clock feature, thanks to the city names placed around the dial. There is also a 24 hour display as well.
The other major feature of the model, flying tourbillon, is located on the lower right side of the dial.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic Tourbillon Universal Time is powered with the Caliber Ref.948. The automatic movement, which offers a 48 hour power reserve, draws attention with its 22K solid pink gold oscillating rotor. In total, there are 42 stones in the mechanism consisting of 375 different parts. In the heart of the movement is the Gyrolab balance. The Gyrolab balance system, which required an 8 years R&D process being put into practice, is also known for its high efficient dynamics. Unlike standard balances, the H shaped Gyrolab balance minimizes the air fraction and offer better stability. Patented to JLC, Gyrolab balance system is being used exclusively in Geophysics Collection.
The new model will be officially presented at SIHH 2017. The production number is limited to 100 pieces only. The MSRP is not announced yet.
