Considered as one of the most important models of Jaeger LeCoultre’s history, Geophysic is re-introduced with a new version limited to a span of only 100 units. As a first in the brand’s history, the new model will be available only through the Jaeger LeCoultre’s on-line boutique.
The story of the model dates back to the International Geophysical Year, which gave its name to the year 1958 and has been home to some very important geographical research and discoveries. The model produced to honor the success of Captain Anderson, who is the first researcher in the North Pole, also paves the way for the birth of the Geophysic Collection from legendary collections of the Jaeger LeCoultre product line.
The new model is offered in a stainless steel case with a diameter of 39.6mm and a thickness of 11.8mm. The fixed flat bezel adds a vintage touch to the case along the elegant winding crown. The thick lugs offer a balanced wrist presence. The case is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and it is water resistant to 5 bars / 50 meters. The see-through caseback features and engraving of "limited edition - one of 100 pieces".
One of the most striking features of the new Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic True Second Edition is undoubtedly its deep blue dial. The dial is finished with SunBurst base pattern and accompanied with a set of SuperLuminova phosphor material applied hands. The triple-faceted hour markers are designed in baton style and accompanied with luminous dots placed on the inner flange. The date display, which is the only extra function of the model, is located at 3 o’clock.
The new model is powered by the Jaeger LeCoultre manufacture movement Caliber Ref. 770. The self-winding movement is composed of 275 pieces (36 jewels) and equipped with high-tech features like Gyrolab balance wheel for lowest air friction values, independently adjustable hour hand and a perforated oscillating rotor made of solid 22K pink gold. The 6.57mm thick movement beats at 4Hz and offers 40 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model is offered on a patina brown calf leather strap. The strap is secured by a Jaeger LeCoultre signed buckle made of stainless steel.
