Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the fifth member of multi-axis Tourbillon models, Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpétuel at SIHH 2019. Once again pushing the boundaries of high-end luxury watchmaking, the brand crowned its extraordinary workmanship with Tourbillon, minute repeater and perpetual calendar complications.
The new model is offered in an 18K white gold case measuring 43mm x 14.08. Equipped with sapphire crystals on both sides, the case is water resistant to 50 meters. Offered with blue guilloché patterned enamel or silver colored textured dials, the model will be accompanied by a blue alligator strap.
Movement is the fully manufacture hand-wound Caliber JLC 184. Beating at a frequency of 28.800vph, the movement is equipped with perpetual calendar, Gyrotourbillon and Westminster minute repeater complications with hours, minutes, dates, days, months and years. Power reserve is 52 hours.
Featuring spherical Tourbillon and minute repeater bells, the system works with crystal bells in the same formation with the bells of the Big Ben watch-tower in Westminster Palace. The Tourbillon balance wheel, which takes a full rotation in a minute, also has a constant force transmission mechanism called the remontoir d’egalite, which keeps the energy coming from the hairspring always at the same level.
The list price of Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpétuel, limited to 18 units only, was announced as € 800,000.
