The new Polaris Collection, based on Polaris from the legendary models of Jaeger-LeCoultre and introduced in SIHH 2018, was highly appreciated by its design combining Vintage vibes with contemporary technologies. The new collection, named after the iconic model Polaris, produced in 1968, was once again presented to watch enthusiasts with its recently introduced limited production model Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic WT.

The new model comes in a stainless-steel case measuring 42mm in diameter and 11.54mm in height. The case is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and it is water resistant to 100 meters - a good enough value for everyday use. There are two winding crowns on the case. The one on the 10 o’clock position controls the rotating world time disk while the one placed at 3 o’clock sets the standard features like time and date.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic WT sports a very stylish yet complicated dial. Featuring different surface finishing on certain sections, the dial is designed in smoky blue tone. On the outside of the dial, there is the world time disk with the name of the cities printed on. Inside the world time disk, there is a 24h disk which eliminates the need for an extra 24h sub-dial or indicator. Applied indices and large hands are Super LumiNOVA phosphor material applied for optimal legibility. The dial is designed like the classic Tri-Compax Chronograph lay-out with three sub-dials. The quarter shaped indicator at 9 o’clock shows the power reserve status while the one at 3 0’clock displays the date. Second time zone is monitored through the sub-dial at 6 o’clock.

The new model is powered by the brand’s in-house movement Caliber 936A / 1. Certified with the Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 1000-hour test, the self-winding movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800vph) and offers a power reserve time of 43 hours when fully wound. The movement sports a power reserve indicator, a date display, a 24h disk and a world time feature besides its time keeping function and it is enjoyable through the sapphire crystal display case back.
