Longines, one of the locomotive brands of the Swiss watch industry, introduced a new model designed for the 60th Anniversary of its Flagship Collection.
The Flagship Collection, which was added to the Longines catalog for the first time in 1957, celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. The brand, which attracted great appreciation with the Re-Issue models that it has recently released, has not neglected to design a special timepiece for this occasion.
Oscar-winning British actress Kate Winslet, the ambassador of the brand, designed over an old 1950s model during a visit to the Longines factory in St.Imier, the watch complements the details of the brand’s past.
Interestingly, the original watch which was the inspiration for the Longines Flagship Heritage 60th Anniversary Limited Edition was handpicked by the brand ambassador Kate Winslet, the Oscar-winning British actress, during a visit to the Longines factory in St. Imier.
The Re-Issue model, which is designed with a great deal of faithfulness to the historical timepiece, features two dial options both in silver tone with either Arabic numerals or arrowhead hour markers. There is an applied Longines logo at 12 o’clock position and both the hands and hour markers are plated in gold to match the case metal; and for the steel version they are plated rose gold. The entire case is designed with mirror polished surface and a diameter of 38.5mm which can be regarded as compact for today’s standards, although larger than the historical model. The solid caseback includes the relief caravel figure referring to the 1950’s.

All of the models in the new product group include the self-winding Longines Caliber Ref. L609 which is actually based on the ETA 2892.
Flagship Heritage 60th Anniversary is offered in three different versions. The stainless steel version (L4.817.4.76.2) has a limited production of 1957 pieces, while solid 18K yellow gold (L4.817.6.76.2) and pink gold (L4.817.8.76.2) models are planned to be produced 60 pieces only.
