One of the greatest advantages for the Longines Heritage collection is, of course, the brand’s amazing history. Longines has made so many successful models back in the day and they still got pretty positive results even today with their Re-Issue versions. Longines Avigation BigEye is inspired by an old chronograph model that has been designed during the golden age of aviation.

The model is offered in a stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter. The case sports a scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and it is water resistant to 30 meters. The dial of the model is designed in a bold and professional way which makes the timepiece quite noticeable. The Avigation BigEye, a very interesting model with its sub-dials designed in different sizes, draws attention with its large chronograph buttons that provide safe use even when wearing gloves in accordance with the aviation concept.

Heritage Avigation BigEye sub dials are designed in three different sizes. While increasing legibility on the one hand, those sub dials also give the watch a sporty character. As we often see in the aerospace concept, the hands and Arabic numeral indices are covered with SuperLuminova phosphorus material.

The Longines Heritage collection was usually marked with the iconic winged sand clock logo or Longines text written in classic handwriting font. However, Heritage Avigation BigEye did not employ any of these but features a regular font Longines writing which gives the model a contemporary detail.

The model is powered with the Caliber Ref. L688. The self-winding movement –which is actually based on the ETA A08.L01, sports a column wheel chronograph feature. 27 jewels movement beats at 4Hz and offers a 54 hour power reserve when fully wound. The movement is not visible due to the solid stainless steel caseback featuring an old aircraft engraving in line with the overall aviation concept.
