American young pilot Charles A. Lindbergh, who landed at Le Bourget airport near Paris from New York on a 33.5 hour flight that he had done 90 years ago, was the pilot who made the first nonstop transatlantic flight of aviation history. Longines, who has taken the official time keeping of this important event, introduced the latest model of its iconic collection Lindbergh Hour Angle.

Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle is a pure pilot’s watch. Designed with a bold case size of 47.5mm for maximum readability even under the toughest conditions, the model has managed to be within the limits of wearing comfort with the use of titanium as the case material. The case features anti-glare coated scratch proof sapphire crystal on the front side surrounded by a black PVD coated rotating bezel. The large winding crown offers secure grips even with thick pilot gloves. The watch is water resistant to 30meters which is slightly lower than today’s standards.

Thanks to the 180 degree scale and bezel on the dial, the geographical position can be adjusted quickly and accurately. The dial, which offers a good readability due to the contrast created by silver and black tones, does not have the same performance in dark environments with its indices and hands with no phosphor material. Breguet-style hands are coated with rhodium plating.

The new model is powered by the Caliber Ref. L699.2. Based on the ETA A07.L01, 24 jewels movement beats at 28800vph and offers a power reserve of 46 hours when fully wound.
