Maurice Lacroix introduced the new version of the Aikon model family, the successful player in the Sport-Chic segment. The new version, which does not compromise the basic design elements that play a role in the success of the model, features an in-house movement.
As one of the most successful trends of recent years, the Sport-Chic segment, which has its name written in "stainless steel" letters in the history of luxury watchmaking, continues on its way by multiplying its popularity. Many manufacturers, from brands associated with traditional luxury watchmaking to names known for entry-level models, are also trying to get a share of this cake.
Maurice Lacroix, one of the long-established names in Switzerland, is one of these names. The brand, which has achieved great success with the Aikon model that has not hesitated to break the routine in this interesting segment with its unrivaled price/performance ratio as well as its stylish design since its first release, continues to expand the model family. The new version added to the collection, the Aikon Master Grand Date, draws attention not only with its stylish lines but also with its original dial design and in-house movement.
The new model comes in a 45mm diameter and 15mm high case with Aikon lines. The stainless steel case, which attracts attention with its bold dimensions, is accompanied by sapphire crystals on the front and back and a crown with the Maurice Lacroix emblem. The case, which also hosts the signature 5 rider tap bezel, gives a green light to light water activities as well as daily use with its 100-meter water resistance value.
The Maurice Lacroix Aikon Master Grand Date comes with an off-centered dial, which watch enthusiasts familiar with the brand will remember directly from the Masterpiece collection. The time is displayed from the sub-dial located in the upper right corner of the dial. Baton hands and indices are present at the part that separates from the general texture of the dial with the Tapisserie pattern. There is a large two-digit date indicator on the upper left of the dial, which is dominated by the blue color. When we move to the bottom part of the dial, we are greeted by a perforated balance and quarter-circle bridge at 7 o'clock, and a small seconds counter at 4 o'clock.
The new model is powered by the Caliber LM331, designed and produced by the brand in-house. 45 jewels automatic movement beats at a frequency of 2.5Hz (18.800vph) and offers 50 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
Maurice Lacroix Aikon Master Grand Date comes with a five-piece metal bracelet and a dark blue Cordura strap. Both belts are compatible with the brand's patented easy-change system. The list price for the new model is CHF 8,900.
