The German brand MeisterSinger, identified with its regulator-style display models, brings nostalgia back to the wrists with its new Edition Primatik 365 model.
MeisterSinger, which became famous for its models inspired by the days when single-handed tower clocks were used in the Middle Ages, is the first name that comes to mind when it comes to regulator display timepieces. The boutique brand, founded by Manfred Brassler and located in Münster, Germany, is among the favorite choices of watch enthusiasts who enjoy this nostalgic and interesting display with its single-handed models in its current collection.
Before moving on to the new model, let's remember how we read the time with single-handed models. Every index placed between the hour markers represents five minutes. So, if the single hand is pointing to the fifth index between 9 and 10 o’clock, the time is 09:25. To improve legibility, the indices representing half and quarter hours are longer and thicker than the rest. However, just like the single-handed tower clocks, there is no time display more precise than 5-minute intervals. For example; you can't say "it’s 11:29" by looking at the watch.
MeisterSinger Edition Primatik 365, represents the more classic face of the brand and is inspired by the aesthetics of vintage pocket watches. The case, made entirely of polished stainless steel, promises a bold presence on the wrist with its 41.5mm diameter and 1.5mm height. The case, which has sapphire on the front and mineral crystal on the case back, hosts a large MeisterSinger signed winding crown. The stylish case offers resistance to water pressure up to 50 meters.
The new model is home to a glossy white dial with black, red, and blue components. At the center of the dial, which stands out with its retro design elements, is the hand used for displaying the hour and minute. The power reserve indicator is at 6 o'clock. The date window, which is a bit tiring for the eyes with its location close to the center, compensates for this defect to some extent with its white-background date disc.
The Sellita SW270 movement, which is designed with modifications suitable for the single-handed display, serves in the model. Beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28800vph), the automatic movement offers a power reserve of up to 38 hours when fully wound.
The model, which comes with a crocodile-patterned black strap and a folding clasp signed by MeisterSinger, is produced in only 100 pieces. The list price for the MeisterSinger Edition Primatik 365 is EUR 2,290.
